CAFE89 is a collective of women coffee producers behind La Mariposa—a carefully grown, beautifully processed coffee that reflects both craft and care.
They are dedicated to producing high-quality, sustainable coffee, relying on traditional craftsmanship and meticulous care of the land, from cultivation to processing and export. Beyond farming, they invest in hands-on training and operate with full transparency, ensuring each purchase directly supports sustainable agriculture, stronger communities, and greater opportunities for women in coffee-growing regions.
Every farmer in CAFE89 processes coffee on her own land. Only fully ripe cherries are picked, sorted by hand after a floatation step, then pulped and fermented in tanks. The beans are washed and dried slowly on raised beds in the shade—an approach that protects quality and brings clarity and balance to the cup.
