We opened our first cafe in 2013 with the mission of offering specialty coffee in a warm and inclusive environment.

As we’ve grown, we’ve quickly come to realize that our deepest commitment, as a company, is to our employees. It is thanks to them—and together with them—that everything we do is possible. Our dedication to our team extends to everyone in our supply chain, which is why we place just as much importance on how our coffee is grown, the people who grow it, and how it’s served to you.

Our Sourcing Philosophy

We care about the planet and the people who grow our coffee. We prioritize organic and regenerative agriculture because it protects coffee workers from harmful chemicals, preserves biodiversity on farms, and helps producers command a higher price on the global market.

To offer you the best coffee possible, the vast majority of our coffee remains certified organic, but we’ve also expanded our lineup to include exceptional lots grown organically without official certification. This allows us to support small-scale farmers who practice natural and sustainable farming but may not have the resources needed to obtain official certification.

Our Packaging Commitment

We believe a roaster’s responsibility doesn’t end with the coffee bean; it extends to the bag it comes in.

We've had to re-visit using 'compostable packaging' because of two major issues: the bags degraded too quickly - sometimes degrading more quickly than the coffee could be consumed - and the bags couldn’t actually be processed by standard municipal composting facilities. To ensure our packaging is as sustainable as possible and effective, we have transitioned to fully recyclable bags. This choice keeps your coffee fresher for longer and ensures the packaging can actually be recycled and repurposed through local waste programs.
